It’s probably safe to say that we’re all experiencing a little more stress than usual lately. The world has changed before our eyes and we’re all just trying to keep up. But not everything is stressful, and there are almost always upsides to every situation. I’m talking about the benefits that come with learning on Zoom.
When learning switched to the virtual classroom, it allowed us to attend courses from our own living rooms. For most of us, our homes provide a sense of security and it’s where we relax after a hard day. Luckily, Zoom and other such platforms allow us to do everything in the most stress-free environment possible. No more having to face a tense morning commute, no more rushing to get ready in the morning, no more forgetting your lunch. Learning online takes a lot of the stress out of the experience.
Additionally, PMC’s instructors are all well-versed in how virtual learning platforms like Zoom work. Even if you’re feeling a little nervous or out of place about using Zoom, the instructor will be able to answer any questions you have. The PMC classroom is a helpful and supportive place, it’s the perfect environment for learning. Don’t let apprehension towards Zoom stop you from engaging with PMC’s workshops, as there is nothing more conducive to learning than being in a comfortable environment.
Content
If you’re an adult, there’s a good chance that you’ve felt stressed out before. It takes a lot to juggle work, relationships, and household chores. You’re being told what to do and how to do it from one million different angles and it causes some serious stress. Not everyone has the skills necessary to combat the pressures of daily life.
That’s why I encourage everyone to take PMC’s Stress Management Skills workshop. While experiencing stress comes naturally, learning to deal with it takes work. In this workshop, you’ll learn a variety of ways to handle stress. You’ll be taught how to re-think your perception of stress itself, there are lessons on how to reduce the sources of stress, and how to handle stress when it arises.
The content of this workshop is delivered in an easy-to-understand way that helps learners absorb the information. There’s a great mix of discussions, exercises, and group activities. The pace of the workshop was informed by the participants; if we needed to take a little longer on one concept, then we took the time to fully explore it.
Learning Materials
As with most PMC courses, this workshop is accompanied by a package of written materials to go along with the oral presentation. There are written exercises, a quiz, and articles. There are also instructions on various stress-relief techniques. The information in the workbook will be helpful long after taking the course. It’s also set up in a way that corresponds chronologically with the topics discussed throughout the workshop.
Instructor
Samantha B. leads PMC’s stress management workshop with knowledge and confidence. She started the day by telling us all a little bit about herself. She was open and honest with her own experiences with stress and how she dealt with it. She set herself up as an authority on the subject without making the participants feel alienated or infantilized.
Samantha created an inviting and safe environment in which I felt less nervous about sharing with the other learners. It can be a little daunting to share your struggles with people that you’ve never met. But because Samantha was so open with her own dealings with stress, we all felt comfortable being open as well.
In addition to teaching courses for PMC, Samantha works as a life coach. It’s her job to help clients make positive changes in their lives and overcome their struggles. That knowledge and experience gives her the skills she needs to help her learners move forward in their own lives.
Takeaway
If this past year has elevated your stress levels to new heights, or if you’ve been dealing with stress long before COVID was part of your everyday vocabulary, this course offers innovative insights into dealing with it. The virtual classroom provides a comfortable learning environment that doesn’t compromise when it comes to the quality of your learning experience.
With help from PMC and Samantha, you’ll walk away with more tools in your belt to tackle whatever life has to throw at you. From a new perspective on the idea of stress to tips on to deal with pressure, PMC’s Stress Management Skills course teaches you everything you’ll need to overcome stress.
