Presentations That Influence Decisions
Knowing the material is not enough to make a presentation work. Presenters can lose their audience when they are unsure what to emphasize, struggle to organize the content, rely too heavily on slides, or let nerves affect how they speak and respond.
This presentation skills course gives participants the FRAME approach, a repeatable process for planning, organizing and delivering clear workplace presentations in virtual and in-person settings. Participants learn how to focus the result, shape the message for the audience, create an easy-to-follow route, reduce distractions, and deliver with effective voice, pace, presence and adaptability.
Throughout the course, participants apply each stage of FRAME to their own short workplace presentation or a provided scenario. They practice key delivery techniques and test whether their message is clear and usable. Participants leave with a reliable method for future presentations, while their organizations benefit from clearer communication and better use of meeting time.
- Define the specific decision, approval, action or commitment a presentation must secure.
- Analyze the decision landscape to identify key decision-makers and influencers and anticipate their likely priorities, concerns and resistance.
- Frame a recommendation around the value, risk or opportunity most likely to matter to the audience.
- Develop a credible case using relevant evidence, sound logic and appropriate consideration of risks and trade-offs.
- Deliver a focused recommendation and respond to difficult questions or pushback while maintaining credibility, direction and a clear path toward a decision or next step.
- Use AI responsibly to test stakeholder reactions, surface objections, compare framing options and stress-test the case without replacing human judgment.
Clarify the Decision and Audience
- Pinpoint the recommendation and the specific decision, approval, action or commitment required.
- Map the people who can decide, influence or affect the outcome, and distinguish what is known from what still needs to be confirmed.
- Anticipate likely priorities, concerns and resistance, using AI responsibly to test assumptions and identify gaps in preparation.
Build and Stress-Test the Case
- Frame the recommendation around the value, risk or opportunity most relevant to the audience.
- Select and organize evidence while addressing risks, trade-offs and alternatives so the case is credible and easier to evaluate.
- Surface weaknesses, objections and difficult questions before presenting.
Deliver Under Scrutiny
- Present a clear recommendation, supporting case and specific decision request.
- Respond to difficult questions and pushback without becoming defensive, overexplaining or losing focus on the decision.
- Address remaining concerns and close with a clear decision, commitment or agreed next step.

- Professionals who know the basics of structuring and delivering a presentation but need to make a stronger case and influence decision-makers.
- People whose recommendations get questioned, delayed or challenged and who want them to land.
- Presenters who need to anticipate concerns and resistance, then respond to tough questions or pushback without losing credibility or direction.
- People who prepare proposals, business cases or approval requests for senior leaders, clients, committees or other decision-makers.
There are no formal prerequisites for this course. Participants should have some experience preparing and delivering workplace presentations and be familiar with basic presentation structure and delivery techniques.

This isn’t a beginner course. It builds on the fundamentals of structuring and delivering a presentation and focuses on the harder challenge — winning buy-in, making the case for a recommendation, and handling tough questions or pushback. If you want to build the fundamentals, start with Presentation Skills from Planning to Delivery. If that’s already second nature, you’re in the right place.
